Grab a fork. Push it down at a 45-degree angle at the thickest point of the fish.
The fish will flake easily when it's done, and it will have lost its translucent or raw appearance.
Use your eyes; the colour should be opaque, not firm white. Also remember, cook: the fish will continue to cook for 1-2 mins after being removed from the heat.
