THE FUTURE OF PACKAGING

We're continuously exploring packaging innovations that help preserve the quality of Lurpak® products while meeting the evolving needs of consumers and markets.

Across our packaging portfolio, we are reviewing materials and packaging formats to support product quality, functionality and recyclability requirements where collection and recycling systems are available.

Packaging remains an important focus area for Lurpak® as we explore material and design solutions that maintain the quality our products are known for.

Our Lurpak® Spreadable tubs are made from polypropylene (PP). In many markets, PP can be collected and recycled through existing waste management systems but not in all. This is reflected on our packaging, with information on how to sort the packaging in the individual markets in the most optimal way for each market.

We continue to work with suppliers and industry partners to evaluate future material options and packaging improvements, while maintaining the quality, freshness and performance consumers expect from Lurpak® – as well as adapt our materials and information flow to evolving technoligies and environments.

For our Mini-portions, we will switch part of our production to polypropylene material(which is considered recyclable in many markets) in 2027 as part of our journey to reduce our impact on climate and nature.
