12 figs

12 bacon slices

1 tbsp Lurpak® Slightly Salted butter, melted

½ tsp (~20) saffron threads, crushed

1 tsp hot water

¼ cup honey

Figs in Blankets


Before you get started, pre-heat the oven to 220 °C.

Grease a frying pan with half of the Lurpak® Slightly Salted butter and pre-cook the bacon slices for three minutes.

Next, place the figs on a baking tray, melt the remaining Lurpak® Slightly Salted butter and brush it on the figs. Then wrap one slice of cooked bacon around each fig. You can keep the bacon in place by pinning the ends to the fig with a small toothpick. Repeat for the remaining figs and bacon before bakeing for 10-12 minutes. 

While the figs are baking, soak the crushed saffron with hot water and then mix in with honey. Drizzle generously onto the bacon wrapped figs when they’re out of the oven, and serve warm.
