Orange cake

3 oranges
220 g Sugar for the cake
225 g Sugar for the syrup
150 grams Flour
120 grams Almond powder
100 grams Lurpak Baking butter
Zest of 1 medium lemon
1 teaspoon of Baking powder
125 ml of water 
4 Eggs

Orange cake

Preparation

Slice the oranges thinly
Make the syrup: In a casserole, heat water and sugar until the sugar dissolves. Then place the orange slices in the water/sugar mix and simmer for 15 minutes. Drain and leave the syrup and oranges separate aside
In a mixer bowl, mix the sugar and eggs for 8 minutes until the mix is white and twice the size
Sift the flour and baking powder on top of the mix and with a spoon, mix gently to keep air in the mixture
Add the butter, almond powder and lemon zest and mix gently with a spoon
In a cake mold, place a baking sheet and place the oranges at the bottom of the mold
Pour the cake mix on top
Place in 180 degrees Celsius preheated oven and cook for 35 minutes
When the cake is out of the oven, let it cool for 10 minutes them flip it on a plate and pour the syrup on top
