  • 1 Lurpak® Unsalted Butter block
  • ½ kg self-rising flour
  • 6 eggs
  • 2 glasses sugar
  • 1 glass fresh orange juice
  • 3 vanilla extracts
  • 2 oranges’ zest
  • 1 shot of cognac
  • powdered sugar for decoration


 Beat the egg whites into a meringue.

Beat the room temperature butter with sugar and just before they are fully blended, throw in the egg yolks, one by one, while beating the mixture continuously.

Once blended, add the flour, orange juice and vanilla, while beating continuously.

With a wooden ladle and patience, "as if folding the material" from bottom to top, incorporate the meringue in the mixture.

Place the mixture in a buttered and floured round baking dish and bake for 1 hour at 180 degrees in a preheated oven.

While baking do not open the oven, because it will deflate.

Once it has cooled down get the cake out of the baking dish and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
