Date cake

1 serving

3 blocks (50 g Lurpak blocks)
1 can sweet condensed milk 395g
3/4 cup water
2 cups date pitted and chopped

Dry ingredients:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
Pinch of salt

For the sauce:
1 1/2 cup brown sugar
2 (50 g Lurpak blocks)
1 can heavy cream
1 tsp vanilla extract
Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, for serving

Date cake


Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Butter and flour 9-inch cake pan.
Heat pan, melt (Lurpak blocks), add sweet condensed milk, water and bring to boil.
Remove pan from heat, set it aside and let it cool, then add bicarbonate of soda and 1 1/2 cup date (reserve 1/2 cup for later), mix them with electrical mixer add the dry ingredients mix until well blended.
Add 1/2 cup of Date and stir by hand.
Spray tin with (Lurpak Cooking Mist), Pour the batter evenly into the pan tin. Bake for about 30 minutes if they are cooked by inserting toothpick, it should come out clean when cake is done.

Meanwhile, to make the sauce, combine (Lurpak blocks), brown sugar and vanilla extract in a medium saucepan. Bring to boil then reduce to simmer gently for a minute, remove from heat add heavy cream and mix until well blended.

When the cake is done, let it rest for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool.
When you serve it heat each piece separately in the microwave and drizzle it with sauce.
Serve vanilla or whipped cream on the side.

Or use round cutter, cut two pieces, shape ice cream by the cutter put it in freeze to hold the shape.
Start by one circle of date cake, ice cream and finally a circle of date cake.
Drizzle with sauce.
