Cheese Ma'amoul

Semolina pastries with cheese filling

500g LURPAK Butter Blocks
1Kg Flour
150g Sugar powder
50g Milk Powder
1Tbsp. Rose water
150g Whipping cream

1Kg Mozzarella cheese

¼ Cup Icing sugar

  1. Chop the mozzarella cheese into small pieces. Refrigerate.
  2. Preheat the oven to 175°C.
  3. In an electric mixer, blend LURPAK Butter Blocks with sugar and milk.
  4. Keep blending on low. Add rose water and whipping cream.
  5. Add the flour gradually and continue mixing until well combined.
  6. Take small pieces of the dough. Press and pat each piece and make a hole for filling. Fill it with 2-3 pieces of the mozzarella cheese. Close it then press it inside the wooden maamoul mold. Flip the mold over and hit the edge with a hard surface to get the maamoul piece out.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes or until the cheese has melted.
  8. Garnish with icing sugar and serve warm.
