LURPAK has been in Italy since the mid-1960’s. Regional importers started distributing LURPAK in their local areas, and the brand now enjoys widespread distribution with market shares of more than 15% in some areas. In a number of tests, LURPAK has been evaluated as the best butter in Italy. LURPAK unsalted butter can be found in a all major Italian supermarkets and differs to the rest of the world by being packaged in gold foil. Today, the assortment also includes the spreadable variant, LURPAK Morbido, to offer the consumer the convenient choice.
In Greece, LURPAK was introduced the early 1980`s. Today, LURPAK is a strong market leader in the category with a share well above 30%. A number of products have been launched besides the butter, and the assortment now includes: LURPAK Butter (sold in tubs and packs), Spreadable, Lighter Spreadable, all sold in both salted and un-salted variants. Millions of LURPAK catering portions are sold to tourists every year. Greece also has its own LURPAK TV advertising campaign.
LURPAK can be found in major cities and the tourist resorts of Spain, along with sales of mini packs for the booming tourist industry.
LURPAK has recently launched in Hungary where both butter and spreadable is available.
