(Snack - Serves 4)
Ingredients
3 apples, e.g. granny smith (approx. 475 g / 17 oz)
1 dl / 100 ml apple cider vinegar
50 g / 2 oz butter, melted
3/4 tsp salt
Baking time: Approx. 25 min. at 150°C / 300°F / Gas Mark 2 - circulation.

Instructions
Rinse and dry the apples. Core the apples. Slice them very thinly. Dip them in apple cider vinegar as you go along. Brush with melted butter on both sides and place the apple slices on 3 baking trays with baking paper, taking care that they do no overlap. Place the baking trays in the lower, middle and upper part of the oven.
The newly baked apple crisps will be soft. Leave to cool on a cooling rack, and they will become crips. Sprinkle with salt. Serve immediately.
The crisps will become stale if left too long.
Tip: The apple crisps are supposed to be eaten as a snack, but will do nicely in a salad or as decoration on any first course or lunch dish.
